Meet Our BA Team
Jenyka White's introduction to scuba diving began on a family vacation to Cozumel, Mexico, where she took part in a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience. Though she had long harbored a fear of the ocean, those first breaths underwater changed everything. Her fear quickly evolved into a calling; so much so, within two years of that very first dive, she became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Since then, she considers the ocean her second home. She especially loves diving at Black Rock in Maui, Hawaii, and always enjoys spotting her favorite marine animal, the porcupine pufferfish. Today, as a scuba instructor, Jenyka not only dives into the depths but helps others rise above their
own fears— showing them just how life-changing diving can be.

Brian Avenarius is a distinguished PADI Course Director with over five years of experience training and certifying new dive instructors. With almost two decades as a dedicated PADI professional, he is recognized for his expertise in dive education, leadership, and safety. His hands-on approach ensures students actively engage with challenges, refining their techniques through practical scenarios rather than rote memorization. While he sets high standards, he fosters a supportive atmosphere that encourages growth, confidence, and a lifelong commitment to learning.
Among the many marine creatures he encounters, Brian’s favorite is the octopus— a symbol of intelligence, adaptability, and curiosity, qualities he instills in divers and instructors alike. Though his work has taken him worldwide, Cozumel, Mexico, remains his favorite dive destination. Its vibrant reefs and clear waters continue to inspire him as both diver and educator, reinforcing his belief in the ocean’s power to transform lives.

Summer Pylant's introduction to scuba began on that same family vacation as her sister, Jenyka.
From that very first dive, the two sisters have been inseparable in their diving journey, earning every certification side by side—from PADI Open Water Diver to OW Scuba Instructor. What sets Summer apart is her academic approach to diving. Her thoughtful, detail-oriented nature makes her a strong planner and a patient instructor. Among the many marine creatures she’s encountered, Summer’s favorite is the Christmas tree worm, admired for its vibrant colors and fascinating behavior. Her favorite place to dive is Casino Point Park on Catalina Island, California, where clear waters and abundant marine life create the perfect setting for both exploration and learning.
